On Thursday last week we went to Orana Park. We learnt about lots of animals that are running out of time because humans are not looking after them or where they live properly. We are going to do something about that! We took a video of us feeding the giraffes with the i-pad. Giraffes are amazing. They have long, blue tongues. This giraffe is 24 years old. She is very old in giraffe years. We had a fantastic time at Orana Park.
I love giraffes too!! Looks like you had fun feeding them. Did you know that the giraffe's heart is as big as a basketball ?! It needs to be this big so that it can pump the blood round its body all the way up to the giraffe's head! And when the giraffe bends its head right down to drink, the blood supply gets turned off or else the giraffe's head might explode!!
